Suspect in French Crypto Kidnappings Arrested in Morocco

A 24-year-old French-Moroccan suspect, identified as Badiss Mohamed Amide Bajjou, has been arrested in Morocco for his alleged involvement in a series of high-profile crypto-related kidnappings in France. The arrest followed a joint operation by Moroccan authorities at the request of French officials. Bajjou is accused of masterminding organized extortion, kidnapping, and violence.

French Justice Minister Gérald Darmanin praised Morocco's cooperation, highlighting the strong judicial ties between the two nations in combating organized crime. Interpol had issued a red notice for Bajjou, underscoring the severity of the charges.

The kidnappings targeted individuals linked to the crypto industry, including an attempted abduction of the family of Pierre Noizat, CEO of Paymium exchange. Another incident involved the father of a French crypto millionaire, echoing a previous case involving David Ballard, a co-founder of a crypto wallet.
